Senior Dog Certification Group Rates for Veterinary Practices

Senior dogs are a significant part of everyday practice. The best outcomes happen when your entire team shares the same approach. Group enrollment helps you standardize senior care across doctors, RVTs, assistants, and client service, so visits run smoother, plans are clearer, and pet parents feel more confident following through.

Group rates are based on the total number of team members across both membership levels.

Why Practices Choose Team Certification

When senior care is consistent, everything improves: the medical workup, the client conversation, and the follow-through. Team certification helps your practice deliver a reliable standard of senior care, no matter who is on the schedule.

  • A shared senior-visit workflow across doctors and staff

  • Clearer communication that improves plan acceptance

  • Better continuity through rechecks, monitoring, and chronic pain follow-up

  • A stronger practice reputation for senior dog care

  • Higher-value senior care delivered the right way

Frequently Asked Questions Senior Dog Certification Group Rates

When does the certification become available?

Level 1 and Level 2 Certification courses were released in September 2024. New members get immediate access to the prerecorded modules in the Senior Dog Vets Learning Center as soon as they enroll.

What does this CE cover?

Senior Dog Vets Certification currently has two levels, and we’ll continue building on the program each year for veterinarians and veterinary professionals. For a full breakdown, see the Senior Dog CE Topics above.

Does this CE make a vet a senior dog specialist?

This certification is designed to help practitioners become senior-dog-focused clinicians with access to advanced training in the latest developments in canine geroscience and the care of elderly dogs.

Certification also helps pet parents find practitioners in their area who continue to dedicate a meaningful portion of their ongoing education to geriatric canine medicine. Check out the Senior Dog Certified Directory.

At this time, there is no formal specialty in geriatric canine medicine, and this certification does not create one.

How often will I need to take CE to stay in the directory?

To earn Senior Dog Certification, veterinary professionals must successfully complete the Senior Dog Vets online certification courses. Certification must be renewed annually to remain Senior Dog Certified and stay listed in the directory.

How do I renew my membership?

Certification is renewed annually. To maintain your Senior Dog Certified status, you must complete 4 additional hours of Senior Dog Vets-specific CE each year and keep an active membership through an annual renewal fee.

When is my annual membership renewal fee due?

Your renewal fee is due annually from the date you first register and pay for membership in the Senior Dog Certification Program.

If you opted for early enrollment, your renewal will be due one year from the program launch date of September 1, 2024.

We’ll send reminder emails with instructions as your renewal date approaches.

Who can become a member?

The certification program is open to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary support staff at all levels. As we continue to grow, we’ll be developing CE courses and learning paths tailored to different roles in veterinary medicine.

Which option is best for me?

Standard Membership

Includes 7 hours of RACE-approved CE and provides a great foundation for support staff in your practice, including receptionists and assistants at all levels.

Advanced Membership

Includes 14.5 hours of RACE-approved CE and is geared more toward doctors and technicians, including general practice veterinarians, specialists, credentialed technicians, and experienced assistants with a hands-on role in patient care. That said, any veterinary team member who wants to go deeper is welcome to enroll.

Is this CE appropriate for specialists?

Absolutely. Our founder, Lauren Adelman, DVM, DACVIM, shares how much she continues to learn from fellow specialists and veterinarians across different areas of geriatric medicine through this program. Listen here.

Is any of this CE relatable for cats?

There may be some crossovers when it comes to aging, but our CE is currently focused on canine research and care. Since cats are a different species, they would benefit from their own dedicated track.

The doctors and staff at my practice are very interested. Are group rates available?

Yes. If you’re interested in multiple Senior Dog Certification memberships for your team, check out the Group Enrollment Details or email us at info@seniordogvets.com to set up a group rate for your practice.
